Our initial response to the crisis was to shut down our factory and suspend all activities, so we would take the time to assess the situation. However, one month later, we decided to open the sewing factory to help the larger community, while enforcing strict safety measures, including masks for all and social distancing.
MEDICAL PROTECTIVE GOWNS
We are stepping up to support healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic by establishing a line of production for medical protective gowns for health care workers in Egypt. The protective gowns are made by women in Izzbet Khairallah and by January 2021, more than 10000 gowns were produced to reach different hospitals in Egypt.
Our work holds a multidimensional impact that aims to establish a line of production for protective gowns to secure the country's increasing need in medical supplies, while empowering the local communities in providing local and innovative solutions to local problems.
